Born on March 22, 1946 in Grodno, BSSR.
In 1988-1998 and in 2005-2021 was the Head of the Department of Music Pedagogy, History and Theory of Performing Art. He taught special piano class (1983-1995), conducts lecture courses “Basics of Psychology and Pedagogy”, “Musical Pedagogy”, “Musical Psychology”, “Methods of writing scientific-methodological works”, “Pedagogy and Psychology of Higher education”, “Didactics”, “Actual problems of Musical Education”. Supervises theses, masters’ theses, candidates’ and doctors’ dissertations.
In 1983-2005 he was a vice-rector of BSC/BSAM.
Author of scientific researches in the field of music education (genesis, theory, methodology, didactics), musical art (creativity, performing), psychology of professional musical activity (motivation, needs, interests, skills).
Theses:
Founder and main editor (2001-2007) of science-theoretical journal “News of Belarusian State Academy of Music”. The editor of republican interdepartmental collection of scientific works “Issues of Belarusian Art and Culture” (1990-1994), magazines “Basics of Art” (1996-2001), “Belarusian Art” (2002), scientific-theoretical magazine “GSU Bulletin” (from 2011 till now),series of scientific publications “Scientific works of BSAM”, publications “Music in development of spiritual human culture”.
He is scientific supervisor of State scientific-technical programs “Belarusian Culture” (from 1997 till 2015)., Programs of State Support for gifted creative children and youth (1993), Concepts of Professional Education in the field of Art in Belarus (1999), Programs for Belarusian musical art propaganda (2005-2011). Scientific supervisor on carrying out the tasks “Fund of L.Abeliovich”, “Development of system of additional education for adults”, “To develop scientific-methodological basis, educational standard and scientific-program documentation of educational program of higher education of the 2nd degree with in-depth training of specialists, providing with master degree in the musical-performing field”, “To develop scientific-methodological approaches to analysis of activities of establishments of secondary special education in the field of culture in the Republic of Belarus. To make recommendations on distinguishing of effectiveness of activities of establishments of secondary special education in the sphere of culture”.
Принимал участие в международных конференциях, выступал с докладами, лекциями и мастер-классами в США, КНР, ФРГ, Австрии, Испании, Голландии, Словении, на Кипре, в Венгрии, Польше, Литве, Грузии, России, Украине, Беларуси и др.

Author of the script to the musical “Mess-Mend” (mus.A.Mdivani, 1987), opera “The little prince” (mus.A.Mdivani, 2008), ballet “Shagreen” (mus.A.Mdivani, 2008), television and radio programs about Belarusian composers.
Was awarded the Medal and Order of Francisk Skaryna (2006, 2022), the Certificate of Honor of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus (1994), the Certificate of Honor from the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus (2002), the Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus (1996), the Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Education of USSR (1983), breast mark “Winner of the social competition” (1975, 1980).
