NIKOLAI SEVRYUKOV

Born on June 28, 1947 in Dalian, China.
Since 1973, he has been a teacher at the Folk Instruments Department of the Belarusian State Conservatory named after A.V.Lunacharsky (part-time). Since 1982, his main job is at the Belarusian State Conservatory, Head of the Bayan and Accordion Department (1981–2011). Provides training for masters. Conducts classes at the Professional Development and Staff Retraining Faculty of the Belarusian State Academy of Music.

Member of the Belarusian Union of Musical Workers (1988). Member of the Presidium of the Belarusian Union of Musical Workers (1991). Chairman of the Association of Belarusian bayan and accordion players (2008).

 

Laureate of the International Competition of Bayan and Accordion Players (Germany, Klingenthal, 1971).

Soloist of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society (1973–2000). He toured in Argentina, Brazil, Hungary, Vietnam, Germany, Kampuchea, Poland, Russia, North Korea, Finland, France, Czechoslovakia, Switzerland, Ukraine (more than 40 countries), giving over 2000 solo concerts. Participant of decades of Belarusian art abroad (Ukraine, Lithuania, Russia), festivals of bayan and accordion players in Belarus, Lithuania, Poland, Russia.

 

He performed in the ensemble: with dulcimer players A.Ostrometsky, E.Gladkov, A.Leonchik, A.Burkovich, N.Shmelkin; accordion player I.Otradnov; balalaika player N.Proshko; vocalists V.Chernobaev, V.Kuchinsky, V.Strelchenya, N.Gaida and others.

Member of the expert and artistic commission of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for Support of the Talented Youth (2008–2012). Chairman and member of the jury of republican, all-Union and international competitions of bayan and accordion players; member of the jury of the all-Union qualifying auditions for international competitions. He teaches at international music seminars, conducts master classes at Children’s Musical Art School (DSHI), secondary specialized education institutions, as well as abroad (China, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine, etc.).

Students of his class (over 150) have become laureates of international competitions over 100 times.

Author of reports at republican and international scientific and practical conferences on the history, theory and methodology of bayan and accordion art; reviews of PhD dissertations.

Awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus (2007), a Certificate of Honor from the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus (2007), a special award of the President of the Republic of Belarus for cultural and art workers (2010), a Certificate of Honor from the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus. For services in the field of accordion art, he is the owner of the “Silver Disc”, awarded at the closing ceremony of one of the most prestigious festivals “Bayan and Accordion Players” (Russian Federation, Moscow, Gnessin Russian Academy of Music; 2015).
