Since 1987 was a teacher of the Instrumentation Department of Belarusian State Conservatory named after A.Lunacharsky. Since 1999 – Associate Professor, since 2004 – Professor. From 1998 till 2015 was the Head of the Instrumentation Department. Since 2015 – Professor of the Composition Department, since 2017- Professor of the Orchestral Conducting and Instrumentation Department.

Among his graduates there are laureates of international competitions, members of Belarusian Composers Union I.Petkevich, O.Podgaiskaya, E.Shimanovich, E.Khrabrova; composers A.Amozova, D.Akhmatov, S.Bakhmutova, E.Vrublevskaya, V.Kisten, E.Larionov, A.Stasevich etc.

His instrumentation course was taken by Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus V.Babarikin, Honored Art Worker A.Galanov; conductors P.Vandilovsky, A.Vysotsky, V.Grischenko, V.Larin, O.Lesun, O.Ovodok, E.Osnovich, V.Chernikov etc.

V.Kuznetsov was chosen as a member of more than 10 expert commissions and councils of the higher rank, she participates in work of art unions – composers (1985), theatric workers (2001), music workers (1999).

Among his compositions – operas: “Diary of a Madman” based on the work of N.Gogol (1987), play at the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre (2005), “Invitation to the execution” (2007), “Humbert Humbert” based on the work of V.Nabokov, “Head of the Professor D.” based on the work of V.Beliaev (2015); confessional opera “Sad dreams” based on the poems of M.Bogdanovich (2020). Ballets: “Chairs” (1983), “Polonaise” (1994), concert performance (1944); “King Solomon” (1998); “Macbeth” (1999), play at the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre (2000) /State prize 2003/; “Cleopatra” (2003), concert performance (2010); “Vitovt” (2011), play at the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre (2013) / Prize for Spiritual Renaissance (2015), National theatric prize (2014)/; “Farewell to the Homeland”, concert performance (2017); “Anastasia” (2017), play at the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre (2018); “Sign of Belobog” (2020). He wrote seven symphonies, many chamber and choir compositions. There were eight world premieres: “Shadow of the glass” (Spain, 1993), “Invitation to the execution” (Switzerland, 1997), “Ritual” (Japan, 2001), “Waiting for Frederic” (Poland, 2003), “Whisper and scream” (Japan, 2007), “Dedications” (Germany, 2010), “Vitovt” (Belarus, 2013), “Anastasia” (Belarus, 2018).

 

He was awarded Special Prize from the President of the Republic of Belarus for high art achievements in the sphere of musical art (2000), Certificate of Honor from the Council of Ministers for creation of new edition of the National Anthem of the Republic of Belarus (2002), Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus (2008), Medal from Belarusian Union of Musical Workers (2015), Certificate of Honor from the Rector of Belarusian State Academy of Music (2016), Anniversary medal from the Bolshoi theatre of Opera and Ballet (2018).
