ELENA SHVEDOVA

E.Shvedova worked as a soloist of Belarusian State Philharmonic Society from 1987 till 1990. In 1991 she was invited as a soloist of the National Academic Bolshoi Theatre of the Republic of Belarus.

E.Shvedova has bright scenery talent and rich performing experience. For time of work as a soloist of the National Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Opera and Ballet of the Republic of Belarus she prepared and performed more than 20 leading parts including: Gilda – G.Verdi “Rigoletto”, Rosina – G.Rossini “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”, Musetta – G.Puccini “La bohème”, Queen of the Night – W.Mozart “Magic flute”, Lucia – G.Donizetti “Lucia di Lammermoor” etc. Besides opera repertoire she has wide concert-chamber repertoire. Many times participated in international opera festivals. As a member of theatre troupe toured in Germany, Spain, Switzerland. In 2018 in collaboration with State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus (conductor I.Bukhvalov) performed with cycle of concerts in China.

Since 2011 E.Shvedova has been working as a teacher of the Singing Department of Belarusian State Academy of Music part-time. In her class there are Belarusian as well as foreign students. Richest musical, performing and life experience of E.Shvedova is prominently expressed in pedagogy. Having a giant repertoire (opera and chamber-vocal), professionalism, performing mastery, many years of collaboration with talented partners provided her with high educational level and creative approach to pedagogy. In pedagogic work she widely uses different methods of studying that activates creative thinking, initiative, independence. Students of her class takes active part in all creative events of the Academy of Music: concerts, competitions, master-classes; cooperates with modern Belarusian authors. Many of her students became laureates and diploma holders of national and international competitions and festivals: A.Kardash, A.Kobus, E.Marchenko, N.Tolstik.

For fruitful creative activity E.Shvedova was awarded F.Skoryna Medal (2009), was entitled “Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus” (2013).
