Born on January 25, 1989 in Minsk (Belarus).
Since 2013, she has been a teacher at the Special Piano Department and Piano Department of the Belarusian State Academy of Music. Since 2016 – senior teacher of the Special Piano Department. Since 2021, she has been the head of the Preparatory Department at the Belarusian State Academy of Music.
The pianist trained at the Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music in academic year 2012-2013 (class of Prof. S.Yu.Osokin).
S.Khikhich was a participant of:
— XVI International Competition of Young Pianists, Piano Duets and Chamber Ensembles named after Maria Yudina (St.Petersburg, Russia, 2015), Diploma in the piano ensemble category;
— XX International Festival-Competition “Musica Classica” (Ruza, Russia, 2016) – winner of the 1st prize in the piano ensemble category (together with Professor L.Z.Ter-Minasyan);
— creative evening of composer Alina Bezenson (Belarusian State Philharmonic Society, March 2015).
Sofia Khikhich was awarded an Honorary Diploma from the VI Rome International competition 2019, a Diploma for teaching excellence from the International competition “Duet Music” 2019, an Honorary Diploma from the International competition “I Nice International Music Competition” 2021.
Sphere of scientific interests Khikhich S.M. – questions of the specifics of training musicians of different piano specialties, pedagogical and performing aspects of analysis of piano ensemble music. Students of her class at the department of special piano took part in a master class of the piano duet of Y. Makhovich and A. Lapicus (Moldova).
Member of the Organizing Committee of the International Festival “Belarusian Piano Assemblies” (2014, 2015, 2022), the International Piano Competition “Minsk 2014”; worked in the Organizing Committee of the XI Republican Open Competition of Piano Music Performers (2017); was the organizer of the concert of teachers of the Special Piano Department (2015); class concerts (2014, 2015,2017, 2019); took part in the concert of the Chamber Ensemble Department in a duet with senior teacher of the Department Anastasia Baranenkova (2017); in concerts in the Great Hall of the Belarusian State Academy of Music: on the 100th anniversary of the birth of Yu.D.Belzatsky in a duet with senior teacher of the Violin Department P.S.Chernevskaya (2019), in a concert on the 150th anniversary of the birth of Komitas in a duet with Professor of the Special Piano Department L.Z.Ter-Minasyan (2019), in the concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of V.K.Merzhanov (2019); took part in the anniversary evening dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the head of the Piano Department B.I.Spektor (2019); in concerts at the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society (2013, 2014), the Upper City Cinema Hall (2015), at art colleges in Molodechno, Republican Gymnasium-College of Arts named after I.O.Akhremchik, Minsk State College of Arts, Children’s Musical Art School No. 4, No. 9 in Minsk. She took part as a soloist in the concert of the Bayan and Accordion Orchestra (2020).
