He was born on July 5, 1948 in Minsk, Belarus.

Since 1998 was a teacher of the Brass and Percussion Instruments Department, since 2003 was a senior teacher, since 2007 is Associate Professor of the Brass and Percussion Instruments Department.

During the work time in Belarusian State Academy of Music he trained 52 specialists with higher education and 9 graduate students.

V.Tarashkevich systematically holds class concerts, his students take part in thematic Department concerts as well as concert projects and festivals. of the Academy of Music and Musical Colleges of the Republic of Belarus. Student of the class of V.Tarashkevich A.Smal became 1st degree laureate of International Competition named after E.Coca (Kishinev, Molodova, 2010), R.Chirik became 1st degree laureate of International Competition named after E.Coca (Kishinev, Molodova, 2016) and received special price for the best performance of Moldavian composition, P.Kunts (1st degree), A.Belokursky (2nd degree), U.Sivakov (2nd degree) became laureates of International Competition of Brass Instruments Performance “Surmy Ukraine”, Chernovtsy, Ukraine, 2017. P.Kunts became diploma holder of International Competition of Brass Instruments Performers, Gdansk, Poland, 2017, 2nd degree laureate of International Competition of Brass and Percussion Instruments Performers “Sonorum” in Kaunas, Lithuania, 2017, A.Belokursky became 2nd degree laureate of International Competition of Brass and Percussion Instruments Performers named after E.Coca, Kishinev, Moldova, 2018.
