Publishing activity at the Academy of Music has been carried out since 1989, when an editorial and publishing sector with a single editor Nina Ivanovna Kopysova appeared in the structure of the university. In 1998, the sector was transformed into an editorial and publishing department headed by a graduate of the Belarusian State Conservatory Mikhail Anatolyevich Kazimirov. Editors Marina Igorevna Klestova, Svetlana Mikhailovna Rybareva, Yulia Vitalievna Shaban work in the staff of the department.
In December 1997, the Academy received a publishing license. Every year, the editorial and publishing department produces books of considerable volume and high quality – educational, that are necessary in the system of professional music education, and scientific, that are important from the point of view of strengthening the positions of Belarusian musicology. In 2005, the journal “Vesci Belaruskai dzyarzhaynai akademii muzyki” and “Nauchnye trudy Belorusskoj gosudarstvennoj akademii muzyki” (in six series) were approved by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus as scientific publications for publishing the results of dissertation research.
For the period from 2017 to 2021, the publishing department of the Academy published 18 collections of scientific papers, 12 issues of the journal “Vesci Belaruskai dzyarzhaynai akademii muzyki”, 3 collections of articles, 1 textbook, 11 educational and teaching aids, 2 monographs, 25 sheet music releases, 6 lecture publications, 2 anthologies, 2 scientific researches, a trumpet playing guide, conference materials, a practicum, 25 methodological developments, a booklet for the 85th anniversary of the Academy (the total volume of published products is 1180 printed sheets).
