VLADIMIR NEKHAENKO

Born on January 13, 1957 in Minsk (BSSR).

Since 1984 he has been a teacher of the Special Piano Department at the Belarusian State Conservatory named after A.V.Lunacharsky. In 1992-2012 – Dean of the Piano, Composition and Musicology Faculty, since 2002 – Professor of the Special Piano Department.

Member of the Belarusian Union of Musical Figures (1989), Belarusian Union of Theater Figures (2001). Vice-President of the National Branch of the European Association of Educators (BEL EPTA, since 1996).

He has performed in solo concerts, as well as in chamber ensembles in Belarus, Russia, Poland, and Taiwan. Conducted master classes in Belarus, Russia, USA, Italy, Taiwan. He is the chairman and member of the jury of prestigious International competitions for pianists Premio Bucchi (Rome, Italy), Delphic Games (World, European, Games of the CIS countries), International competitions named after S.Rachmaninov (Tambov, Russia), named after S.Prokofiev (Moscow, Russia; Donetsk, Ukraine), named after V.Horowitz (Kiev, Ukraine), named after V.Safonov (Pyatigorsk, Russia), as well as International piano competitions held in Belarus: “Minsk-2005”, “Minsk-2010”, “Music of Hope”.

He made a significant contribution to the development and strengthening of the International prestige of the Belarusian piano school. Pupils became laureates and diploma winners of prestigious International competitions about 40 times, 16 times the owners of Grand Prizes and First Prizes.

One of the initiators of the creation in Belarus of the National Branch of the European Association of Piano Teachers (BEL EPTA). Author of a number of works on the problems of piano pedagogy and performance, including the first multimedia textbook in the Republic “Famous teachers-masters of art – the talented youth” (Minsk, BSIQ, 2005).

He was awarded with the Francysk Skaryna Medal (2008), Citation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus (2013), Honorary Mention of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus (2002), Citation of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus (2004), Honorary Badge of the Union of Musical Figures of the Republic of Belarus (2022).
