He was born on November 19, 1948.

During his service in Military forces from 1971 till 2003 he went through all the steps of the career ladder – from military conductor of military unit to the head of orchestra service of Belarusian military region, creative director and main conductor of Exemplary Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus.

Since 2002 M.Bersan teaches in Belarusian State Academy of Music. He is one of the leading specialists in this sphere, his work as a teacher is on the high scientific-methodological, professional level. His students successfully work in various musical teams of Belarus. From 2004 till 2014 was creative supervisor and conductor of the Brass Orchestra of the Academy of Music.

М.Bersan has high instrumentation skills. He instrumented and published many compositions of Belarusian, soviet and foreign authors. Under his edition were written: edition of orchestral songs (2003), edition of dril; marches for wind orchestras (2007) as well as four editions of concert compositions.

He is systematically invited as a jury member of competitions, festivals of orchestra and choir teams as well as state exam qualification commissions of educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus. Since 2005 he heads and holds competition-festival “May waltz” with brass orchestras of Minsk region.

He has honorary titles of the Republic of Belarus (BSSR, USSR, the Russian Federation) for high professional mastery, significant contribution and development of musical art.
