Born on August 18, 1989 in Minsk (Belarus).
Since 2015, he has been a teacher of the Special Piano Department at the Belarusian State Academy of Music (part-time). Since 2019 – senior teacher of the Special Piano Department.
He is the 2nd prize winner of the International Competition of Piano Duets “Brother and Sister” (St.Petersburg, Russia, 2001), the 1st prize winner of the International Competition “Gradus ad Parnasum” (Kaunas, Lithuania, 2004).
Laureate of the International Festival of Slavic Piano Music (Melitopol, Ukraine, 2006, 2008), Laureate of the III Prize of the V S.V.Rachmaninov International Music Competition (St.Petersburg, Russia, 2012), Participant of the XXVI International Festival “January Musical Evenings” (Brest, 2014), winner of the Special Prize for the best performance of a work by S.V.Rachmaninov, Diploma from the Emil Gilels Foundation (III International Festival “Great Teachers”, Bulgaria – Kyustendil, 2014).
Ilya Petrov is a scholarship holder of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for Support of the Talented Youth (2005).
