L.Scherbakova is Associate Professor of the Singing Department of Belarusian State Academy of Music, she;s been working there since March 22, 2012.
Her art activity she started in 1978 as a soloist of opera of the National Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Opera and Ballet of the Republic of Belarus. For the years of work in the theatre (1978-2005) sang the entire leading repertoire for soprano: more than 30 opera parts of lyric and lyric-dramatic plan. With the plays and concerts toured abroad, cooperated with the biggest republican formations, leading directors and conductors, outstanding musicians.
Richest musical, performing and life experience of L.Scherbakova is prominently expressed in pedagogy. From 1991 till 1994 she taught voice production at the Music Theory Department of Belarusian State Conservatory, since 2000 worked as a solo singing teachers (part-time), since 2005 – as a main job. Having a giant repertoire (opera and chamber-vocal), professionalism, performing mastery, many years of collaboration with talented partners provided her with high educational level and creative approach to pedagogy.
In pedagogic work L.Scherbakova widely uses methods of problematic education that activates creative thinking, initiative etc.
She trained more than 50 specialists that successfully work in Belarusian State Philharmonic society, choir chapel named after G.Shirma, choir of television and radio of the Republic of Belarus, choir “Sonorous”, Brest Philharmonic Society, Brest College of Arts, China. Thanks to high professional training, students of her class became laureates and diploma holders of national and international competitions. Their performances are distinguished by their content, culture of sound production, vocal evenness, style understanding and phrasing subtlety. For high professional level L.Scherbakova was awarded special diplomas and certificates (Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania).
Students of her class take active part in all the creative events of the Academy of Music: concerts, competitions, master-classes. For the significant contribution into development and propaganda of Belarusian musical art, educational activity and high professionalism L.Scherbakova has Gratitude from Belarusian Union of Composers. Member of Union of Theatrical Workers since 1979.
