The virtual reference service “Ask the Librarian” does:
- requests for the availability of a specific document in the library collections;
- thematic requests (certificates containing a list of documents on a specific topic), the implementation of which does not entail a complex bibliographic search, providing a bibliographic list of no more than 10 titles;
- factual requests (information about a specific event, organization, famous person, definition of a term from reference books, encyclopedias, etc.). For this request, the user receives a certificate indicating the source of information;
- clarifying requests (clarification of elements of the bibliographic description of documents available in the library collection).
The help desk does not consider the following questions:
- going beyond the thematic focus of the library’s activities;
- requiring clarification and interpretation of laws and regulations;
- related to the need to provide educational information (writing text works – abstracts, coursework, diplomas, etc., translation of texts, etc.);
- related to the provision of entertainment information (solving crossword puzzles, participating in quizzes, intellectual games and other competitions).
