Courses taught: Methods of piano playing teaching, History of piano art, History of Belarusian piano art, Methods of teaching a special instrument, Methodological foundations of performing analysis of musical works, Artistic styles in piano performance, Methodology of research of musical performing art (Master’s degree), Special instrument (piano), Marketing and management of a creative project (Master’s degree), Problems of performing interpretation (Master’s degree). Provides scientific supervision of Master’s and postgraduate theses.


Born on April 7, 1970 in Odessa (Ukraine).

In 1993, piano accompanist of the Orchestral Conducting Department of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, and since 1995 – piano accompanist of the Violin Department. Since 1999 – teacher at the Department of Music Pedagogy, History and Theory of Performing Art and the Special Piano Department of (part-time), since 2000 – senior teacher, since 2006 – Associate Professor.

Laureate of the I National Piano Competition “Silver Note” (Odessa, 1985), Republican Competition named after G.G.Neuhaus (Simferopol, 1988), International Competition of Performers “Classical Heritage” (Moscow, 1998), International Competition of Performers (Yalta, 2006).

Honorary Member of the Organizing Council of the International Piano Competition in Paris (France), Member of the International Association of Piano Teachers “Art and Education of the 21st Century”, Member of the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA), Member of the Belarusian Union of Musical Workers, Member of the Belarusian Union of Theater Workers.

Chairman and member of the jury of Republican and International performing competitions (Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Italy, Greece, Poland, Czech Republic, China).

Member of the jury of student research competitions in the field of musical art.

Participant of numerous television and radio programs in Belarusian, Ukrainian, Russian, Serbian, Polish, and French broadcasting. There are publications in the press (newspaper “Labour”, “Evening Minsk”, “Culture”, “People’s newspaper”, “Evening Odessa”, “Sud Ouest”, etc.)

Among her students are Grand Prix winners, laureates of International piano competitions, scholarship holders of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for Support of the Talented Youth:

Yu Bing Bing, Fang Yuan, Guo Hongli, Li Lin, Xiao Wei, Li Le, Xu Rong, M.Medved, A.Ivanova, Zhang Yixin, Han Fengjie, Shi Yishan, Zuo Xinyu, Yuan Chen, Mi Ximen, Zhao Yingfei; Zhou Yizhi, Li Tong, Li Yuxuan, Yang Yuanhan (creative project).

V.Sakharova prepares students for Republican and International research and practice conferences and scientific works competitions.

Students of her class have repeatedly become laureates of the Academy scientific work competition (“Alma mater” – D.Klyuchenovich), the Republican conference-competition (E.Sushchenya, E.Moroz), the International student scientific works competition (E.Samokhovets, E.Moroz).

Laureates of scientific works competitions:

  • E.Samokhovets – laureate of the 1st prize at the II International Student Conference-Competition of Musicological Works (2011).
  • E.Moroz – laureate of the International Competition of Final Qualification Works for Students (2021, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia).
  • E.Moroz – laureate of the VIII Republican competition of student scientific works (2022, Minsk, Republic of Belarus).

PhD Supervisor of the Student Research and Creative Society of the Department of Music Pedagogy, History and Theory of Performing Art.

She is one of the organizers of the Research and Practice Conference of the Belarusian State Academy of Music “Musical pedagogy, psychology and performance through the eyes of students”.

Author and organizer of the scientific and creative project at the Belarusian State Academy of Music – competition for young teachers “Stages of Mastery”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Belarusian State Academy of Music (2022).

Author, organizer and presenter of the annual educational creative project, concerts of piano music with the participation of students and their teachers: “Stages of mastery”, “Classics and not only…”, “Through the years, times and eras…” in G.Shirmy Small Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society (from 2014 to the present).

She performs as a soloist, piano accompanist, and piano duet artist in concert halls in Belarus, Ukraine, Crimea, Russia, Poland, Greece, and France.

She gives reports and lectures at International research and practice conferences and forums, conducts master classes (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Greece, Italy, Czech Republic, etc.), advanced training courses at the Institute of Culture of Belarus, Institute of Professional Development and Staff Retraining of the M.Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University, collaborates with secondary specialized education institutions and higher education institutions (reviews scientific articles, educational programs and methodological developments), works in expert commissions, and is an opponent in the defense of PhD theses.

Veronika Sakharova was awarded Certificates of Honor from the Department of Culture of the Minsk City Executive Committee (2001, 2008, 2013); Gratitude and Diplomas from the International Charitable Foundation “Our Future” with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation for the great contribution to the development of children’s and youth creativity (2014 – 2022), the Ministry of Culture of Belarus (2010); Certificates of Honor from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus (2014, 2018), the Main Directorate of Ideological Work, Culture and Youth Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee (2016, 2017), the Minsk City Council of Deputies (2017), the Public Association “Belarusian Union of Musical Workers” (2021), the Rector of the Belarusian State Academy of Music (2022).

Winner of the International Music Award of the Eurasian Economic Union “BelBrandaword” (2016).

Research interests – piano performing art (creativity, performance, piano schools, performing styles), problems of interpretation of a musical work and pedagogical skills, teaching methods, methodology for researching musical performing art.
