Victor Voitik was born on September 3, 1947 in Grodno, Belarus.

V.Voitik has already made his name during studying in Belarusian State Conservatory.A curious spirit of search distinguishes suite “Golden Key”, ”Suite in the Old Style” for dulcimer. The period of creativity during his studies in conservatory finished with a cantata based on poems by M.Bogdanovich and the First symphony with the program title “Kalozha”.

In the mid-70s during the internship in Moscow Conservatory V.Votik wrote a number of new major works such as “Fun”, “Suite-paraphrase”, the Second Symphony, Concerto for chamber orchestra, cantata “Cossak Songs”. He was awarded the 1st prize and the title of laureate for the oratorio “Memory of Khatyn” at the All-Union Competition of Student Composers, held in Moscow(1976).

Among the most significant works of the 80s are the Concerto for clarinet and chamber orchestra, Concerto for dulcimer and symphonic orchestra, and the symphonic poem “Ivan – the son of villager”.
Another area of V.Voitik’s art is vocal music. Throughout his career he writes songs, romances, choirs.

A significant work of his mature period is the opera for children “Spring song” which reveals the eternal problems of friendship and loyalty. The most important aspects of the composer’s creative style are concentrated in symphony named “The last Autumn of Poet”.

Music for dulcimer occupies a special place in composer’s work. Composer gave a special meaning to dulcimer colors for two dulcimers in “Watercolors”, etudes.

The originality of music is summarized by the desire to reveal inner unity between different artistic movements. Success of numeral creative decisions is due to the original point of view on deep layers of Belarusian folklore. In program music where theatrically bright imagery is combined with deep philosophical thought and lyrical discovery, composer extends the idea of stylistic synthesis. This philosophical idea takes central place in symphonic orchestra “Lux aeterna” (2015).

Music by V.Voitik attracts people by its bright emotional coloring, beauty and sincerity of musical expression. It can be heard on concerts, radio and television.
He has many publication, CD recordings, etc.
