He was born on March 26, 1955 in Bobruisk, Mogilev region (Belarus). Since 2000 was Associate Professor of the Instrumentation Department of Belarusian State Academy of Music. From 2015 till 2017 was Associate Professor of the Composition and Instrumentation Department. Since 2017 is Associate Professor of the Orchestral Conducting and Instrumentation Department. Member of Belarusian Composers Union (1989).
S.Yankovich conducts scientific-methodological education securance.
He developed:

S.Yankovich also has significant artistic achievements. His compositions in the sphere of chamber, orchestra genre are included in educational and concert repertoire. They are obligatory compositions at republican and international competitions.

For chamber orchestra: Adagio for string, percussion harp and cembalo (1986), transcription of the ballet of E.Vanzhura «Venus and Adonis» (1992), “Intermezzo”, “Sara Banda”, “Scherzo”, “Adagietto”, “Gallop” (2006).Concert for dulcimer with orchestra (2016). Concert for domra with orchestra(2019).
For folk orchestra:musical picture «My motherland» (2008), «Romantic waltz» (2014).
For wind orchestra: suite «Larks» (2009),
For Estrada orchestra: play «Zodiac Signs» (1987).
