About the productions and performances of the Opera Studio of the Academy of Music they wrote:
1967, October 25 – Opera “Pavel Korchagin” by P.Podkovyrov, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution (Director N.Serdobov, Conductor Yu.Novikov). The titular part was played by student V.Pokidchenko, the image of Pavel’s mother was embodied by I.Otlygina. The image of the gymnasium student Leshchinsky performed by V.Kuchinsky became interesting. In the article by the People’s Artist of the Latvian SSR, Professor A.Vilyumanis, published in the newspaper “Soviet Youth” dated March 13, 1968, a positive assessment was given to Belarusian singers.
1971 – Opera “Iolanta” by P.Tchaikovsky (Director N.Serdobov, Conductor Yu.Novikov, Choirmaster S.Borovkova, Concertmaster S.Shtelmakh).The newspaper “Literature and Art” in its issue dated June 18, 1971 wrote that “this is another successfully staged educational performance by the Studio of the Belarusian State Conservatory”. The article notes that “…the opera is complex in its musical content, the vocal parts require the ability to master various expressive means”, however, “the Studio singers have shown themselves capable of such creativity”.
1976, February 20 – Premiere of a new montage of T.Khrennikov’s Opera “During the Storm” (II, II, IV scenes) received positive reviews in the press. The author of the opera, Laureate of the Lenin Prize, People’s Artist of the USSR T.Khrennikov thanked the studio.
1975 – W.Mozart’s Opera “The Marriage of Figaro” (Stage Director Yu.Uzhentsev, Conductors Yu.Novikov, E.Arashkevich, Artist A.Kravchuk). The newspaper “Soviet Belarus” noted that, despite the modesty of funds and the inexperience of the student performers, “the performance turned out to be interesting, dynamic, emotional”.
1978 – Opera by E.Tikotsky “Mikhas Podgorny” (Conductor A.Vinogradov). The role of Marysia was performed by graduate L.Krivenok, Aksinya – by a 2nd year student N.Rudneva. The newspaper “Literature and Art” dated May 5, 1978 noted that “the Opera Studio is an active promoter of the national opera”.
1982 – Opera “The Barber of Seville” by G.Rossini (directed by Honored Artist of the BSSR R.Evraev, Conductor E.Arashkevich). The newspaper “Chyrvonaya Zmena” wrote that the performance, which was given to the audience by the participants of the Opera Studio, paid for many days of hard work. Perhaps that is why the performance was held on such a “pure and high note”.
2019 – Opera “Pebble” by S.Moniuszko (Director A.Motornaya, Conductor A.Vysotsky) was noted in the programs of Belarusian television.
2021 – The Opera “Iolanta” by P.Tchaikovsky (Director I.Garanets, Conductor Yu.Karavaev), shown at the Opening of the IV International Easter Festival, was covered in many Belarusian media.
2023 – The Opera “Mozart and Salieri” and scenes from the Opera “The Tsar’s Bride” (Director I.Krikunova, Conductor A.Anisimov) were shown at the Opening of the VI International Easter Festival and were covered by the leading media in Belarus.
