Since 1982 – piano accompanist of the Choral Conducting Department at the Belarusian State Academy of Music (classes of Professor V.V.Rovdo, Professor M.P.Drinevsky, Associate Professor V.L.Avramenko, Associate Professor N.N.Khvisyuk, Associate Professor Yu.A.Karaev, People’s Artist of Belarus N.I.Lomanovich, teacher O.E.Yanum). From 1982 to 2021 she was the piano accompanist of the Student Choir of the Belarusian State Academy of Music.
Irina Kuzovkova’s repertoire covers a large number of Belarusian and foreign works. Actively combines work in the conducting class, concert activities and career guidance work. Her performance is distinguished by an impeccable sense of style and technical precision. Distinctive ability to work allows her to combine teaching functions with the position of deputy executive secretary of the Admissions Committee and Chairman of the primary trade union organization.
As a piano accompanist, Irina Kuzovkova successfully participates in the preparation and conduct of a number of significant international creative events with the Student Choir of the Belarusian State Academy of Music. Among them is the performance of the Mass in C minor by W.A.Mozart (Altenberg, Germany, 2006); D.Shostakovich’s Thirteenth Symphony (Bonn, Germany, 2008); G.Handel’s Oratorio “Israel in Egypt”, G.Donizetti’s Opera “Anne Boleyn” (Altenberg, Dortmund, Germany, 2009); Operas by G.Verdi “The Corsair” (Dortmund, Cologne, Germany, 2011); concert performance of the Opera “Porgy and Bess” by J.Gershwin (Minsk, 2012); a number of concerts within the framework of the Twelfth Moscow Easter Festival (Moscow, 2013); joint concert of the Student Choir with the State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus “TANGO” (Minsk, 2013); concert at the closing ceremony of the XI Singing Academy (Gomel, 2013); joint concert of the Student Choir and Symphony Orchestra of the Belarusian State Academy of Music “Matthew Passion” (Minsk, 2014); solo concerts at partner universities (Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, F.Chopin University of Music, F.Liszt Academy of Music, Shanghai Conservatory of Music, 2016); concert programs within the framework of the XVI Festival “International Conservatory Week” (St.Petersburg, Russia, 2016); concert programs as part of events dedicated to the beginning of the Belarusian diplomatic presence in Spain (Madrid, Spain, 2016); annual concerts in the Great Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society and the Belarusian State Academy of Music at which Irina Kuzovkova accompanied the Student Choir and participated in the preparation of the premiere performances in Belarus of G.Handel’s Oratorio “Israel in Egypt”, A.Schnittke’s “Requiem”, J.Gershwin’s Opera “ Porgy and Bess”, “Mass from Buenos Aires” by M.Palmeri, “Children’s Mass” by J.Rutter.
In recent years alone, such major works as scenes from G.Donizetti’s Opera “Anne Boleyn” and G.F.Handel’s Oratorio “Israel in Egypt” have been performed by the Student Choir accompanied by I.Kuzovkova at the State exams at the Belarusian State Academy of Music. (2009), Cantata “Kursk Songs” and “Pathetic Oratorio” by G.Sviridov, “Children’s Mass” by J.Rutter (2015), a number of chamber cantatas by J.S.Bach (2016), Oratorio “The Seasons” by J.Haydn, Mass No. 15 C major (“Coronation”) by W.Mozart, Cantata “Stabat Mater” by G.Pergolesi (2017).
Irina Kuzovkova takes an active part in organizing and conducting major educational projects at the Choral Conducting Department, including: “Choral Pages of the 20th Century” (2016); competitions of choral conductors among students of secondary specialized education institutions (2012, 2015, 2018), open competitions of choral conductors named after V.V.Rovdo (2009, 2011, 2014, 2016).
Over the years of work in the classes of the teaching staff of the Choral Conducting Department as a piano accompanist, she has prepared a number of laureates of international choral conducting competitions, including: G.Matyas (1986, Riga, Latvia; 1987, St.Petersburg, Russia), M.Yanushkevich (2008, Wroclaw, Poland), I.Kozich (2021, Tula, Russia, 2022, Saratov, Russia).
