PUBLIC ORGANIZATIONS

The public association “Belarusian Women’s Union” (BUW) was created on December 14, 1991.

It unites women’s organizations along territorial and professional lines.

The activities of the BUW are aimed at assisting in the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of women, families and children, ensuring a decent position for women in society, increasing her role in the socio-political, socio-economic and cultural life of the country. Every year, an action plan for the implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation and Interaction to stimulate women’s entrepreneurial initiative is signed between the Ministry of Economy, OJSC Belinvestbank and NGO BWU.

• Since 2022, the BUW has annually held a Forum of rural workers.Every year, on the basis of the Institute of Public Service of the Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Belarus, members of the NGO “BUW” are trained in the educational program for advanced training “Women’s leadership in the innovative development of modern Belarusian society.”
• Since March 2023, under the auspices of the BUW, fundraising has been organized on an ongoing basis for the treatment of children with rare life-threatening and chronic diseases
• DADOMU.by. The unified Internet portal has become a striking example of public-private partnership in favor of family placement for children who are left without parental care. The BUW, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection took part in its creation.

The primary organization of the educational institution “Belarusian State Academy of Music” of the Public Association “Belarusian Women’s Union” has existed since May 25, 2021,  Belarusian State Academy of Music and actively participates in all events in the Central region of Minsk. Members of the primary organization of the Belarusian Women’s Union at the Academy of Music are teachers, accompanists and employees. Board of the primary organization of the educational institution “Belarusian State Academy of Music”:

• Chairman – Rector, Associate Professor, Candidate of Art History Elena Viktorovna Kurakina;
• Deputy Chairman – Head of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, Professor of the Piano Department, Associate Professor Sazanovich Natalia Valentinovna;

The primary organization conducts cultural and educational events:

1. Thematic musical evenings in museums in Minsk “The image of women in Belarusian music and poetry”;
2. Conversations with youth “Belarusian women musicians and defenders of the Fatherland in the Second World War”;
3. Lectures “Classical music and moral and aesthetic education of youth.”
