People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Candidate of Art History, Professor (Russia)

Soviet and Russian pianist, music teacher, member of the “Moscow Trio”, Professor of Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, PhD in Art History. People’s Artist of the Russian Federation (1994). Vice-rector of the Educational and Methodological Association of Moscow State Conservatory (since 2004). Member of the Presidium of the International Union of Musicians. Board member of the Moscow Union of Musicians. President of the Chamber Music Association of the International Union of Musicians. Board of Trustees member of the Foundation named after P.Tchaikovsky and the “Russian Performing Arts” Foundation. Member of the Artistic and Expert Council of the International Charitable Foundation “New Names”. Laureate of numerous national and international competitions.

He was born on July 27, 1945 in Kherson, Ukrainian SSR.

He received his primary musical education at the town Music College (class of K.Dedova), then graduated from Kherson Music College (class of S.Zyuzina), and in 1967 he graduated from Chisinau State Conservatory named after G.Muzichesku (class of A.Sokovnin). He perfected himself at the Postgraduate school of Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory (piano class of D.Bashkirov, chamber ensemble class of T.Haidamovich), from which he graduated in 1969. Since 1969, A.Bonduryansky was a senior lecturer at the Special Piano Department of Chisinau Conservatory (until 1971), in 1973–1980 he led the chamber ensemble class at the Music College at Moscow Conservatory, since 1980 he was working at the Chamber Ensemble and Quartet Department at Moscow Conservatory, since 1995 he has been a Professor. In 2011–2013, he was a Vice-rector for Artistic Activities at the Moscow Conservatory.

Currently, he leads a class of a chamber ensemble, holds an author’s course of lectures in the history of chamber and ensemble art.

Since 1962, he has been active in concert performances. In 1971–1991 he was a soloist of the Moscow Concert, since 1991 he has been a soloist of Moscow State Academic Philharmonic Society. A regular member of the “Moscow Trio” (since 1975, along with V.Ivanov, M.Utkin). As a soloist and member of the “Moscow Trio” he visited during tours more than 200 cities of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, as well as the cities of the USA, Japan, Germany, England, Ireland, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Poland, Hungary, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Canada, Jordan, Costa Rica.

He has held master classes (piano, chamber ensemble) in many cities of Russia, as well as countries of near and far abroad.

Students. He educated more than 150 students, including P. Fedotova, A.Lundin, N.Rubinstein and others.

Awards:

  • Laureate of the Moscow Prize in Literature and Art (1996);
  • Medal “In memory of the 850th anniversary of Moscow”;
  • Gold Medal of the I.Arkhipova Foundation;
  • Silver Medal of the Foundation named after P.Tchaikovsky;
  • Honorary badge of the President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
