The string quartet of young teachers of the Belorussian State Academy of Music (Ekaterina Pukst – 1 violin, Polina Chernevskaya – 2 violins, Nikolai Teran – viola, Polina Forostyanaya – cello) was organised in February 2021.
In a short period of time, talented musicians have prepared several programs, including works of different eras, styles, genres. Works by Belorussian composers are in the area of special attention of performers. Significant in the biography of the quartet were performances at the V Easter Festival in May 2021 and at the opening of the concert season in the Great Hall of the Belorussian State Academy of Music in October 2021.
Famous Belorussian musicians cooperate with the quartet: Vladimir Dulov (piano), Sergey Tumarkin (oboe), Dmitry Shabetya (tenor), Evgenia Krokhina (soprano).
In less than a year of its existence, the quartet has won several international competitions: Grand Prix at the International Competition of String and Bow Instruments “Cantabile e presto” (Russia, Kazan, November 2021), III prize at the I International Eva-Iosif-Semyon Kogan competition of Instrumental Performance (Kazakhstan, Almaty, December 2021), Grand Prix at the VIII International Golden Olympus Competition (Russia, Kurgan, December 2021), Grand Prix at the St. Petersburg International Competition. I.F. Stravinsky (Russia, St. Petersburg, January 2023), I prize at the III International Competition for Performers on String Musical Instruments “String Premium – 2023”.
