INFORMATION LETTER

From November 24 to 27, 2026, Belarusian State Academy of Music will host the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Music Education in Historical Perspective: Constants and Metamorphoses”.

The conference program will feature sectional sessions, round tables, lectures, presentations of new publications, masterclasses, concerts, and exhibitions.

Conference Topics & Scope:

• Music education in historical perspective: origins, stages of development, traditions, national and regional educational systems, concepts, and innovations.
• Music pedagogy schools: genesis, key personalities, and experience.
• Contemporary challenges in music performance and pedagogy.
• Modern perspectives in music-historical and music-theoretical research.
• Contribution of Belarusian women to the development of music education (dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman).
• Outstanding figures in music pedagogy celebrating anniversaries in 2026.

Participants:
Researchers, professors, and specialists from higher and secondary music education institutions, as well as doctoral and postgraduate students, are invited to participate.

Languages: Russian, Belarusian, English.

Format & Participation:
The conference will be held in a hybrid format. The available options for participation include:

• In-person (on-site)
• Remote / Online (video recording of the presentation with an option for online Q&A, or a poster presentation)

Time Limits / Regulations:

• Plenary presentation: 20 minutes
• Sectional presentation, round table talk, or book presentation: 15 minutes
• Q&A and discussion: 5 minutes
