INFORMATIONAL LETTER

The XXXIII International Scientific Conference in memory of L. Mukharinskaya (1906-1987) and the International Festival of Ethnic Cultures will be held from April 9 till April 12, 2024 at the Belarusian State Academy of Music.

During the Conference, there will be workshops and roundtable meetings, lectures and master classes, presentations of new publications.

Main topics of the Conference:

  • Oral and traditional musical culture;
  • Liturgical and Paraliturgical music;
  • Musical art of Belarus and the world;
  • Musical performance and pedagogy;
  • Outstanding figures of musical culture and art – anniversary celebrant of 2024;
  • The Great Patriotic War theme in musical art (dedicated to 80th anniversary of the emancipation of Belarus from Nazi invaders);
  • Music in audio and visual arts (dedicated to 100th anniversary of the Belarusian cinema).

There will be a roundtable meeting dedicated to modern field research of ethnomusical culture.

Researches, teachers and specialists from higher and secondary education institutions in the field of musical art, doctoral and postgraduates’ students are invited to participate in the Conference.

The Conference languages are Russian, Belarusian and English.

The Conference is to be held in a mixed format. The following forms of participation are possible: in-person presentation, online presentation, video recording of the report or poster presentation.

Speech time limit: 20 minutes (for reports at the plenary session), 15 minutes (for reports at the workshops and roundtable meetings or presentation of the publication).

Applications for participation are accepted until March 26, 2024 at minsk.conference1@gmail.com.

A poster presentation or a video recording of the report must be sent no later than April 5, 2024 to minsk.conference1@gmail.com.

The Conference participant or the sending party is responsible for covering travel, lodging and meals expenses.

The research articles are to be published after the Conference. The articles must be send to nio@bgam.by before May 31, 2024.

A scientific article of 14,000–25,000 printed characters must include an abstract in the language of the article, a summary in English, and keywords. The article have to be formed according to the requirements posted on the Academy’s website (https://bgam.by/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Trebovaniya-Vesty1.pdf). For publication accepted only articles that have not been previously published. The organizing committee reserves the right to reject articles that do not meet the stated requirements.

KEY DATES

March 26 – Deadline for submitting applications

April 5 – Deadline for submitting video recording and poster  presentations

April 9-12 – Conference days

May 31 – Deadline for submitting research articles for publication (with the necessary documents attached)
