INFORMATION LETTER

 

From November 24 to 28, 2025, the Belarusian State Academy of Music will hold the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Issues of Contemporary Music Art: at the Intersection of Genres and Styles”.

The conference will include section meetings, round tables, lectures, presentations of new publications and master classes, concert events and exhibitions, a student scientific and practical conference of the Student Research and Creative Society, as well as a practical seminar on journalism for students and young scientists.

Problem field:

  • genre and style palette of modern musical art;
  • theoretic problems of studying the music heritage of different eras;
  • current perspectives of music-theoretic and music-historic research;
  • issues of music pedagogy, history and theory of performing arts;
  • problems of terminology in modern art criticism;
  • outstanding figures of music art – anniversaries of 2025;
  • the theme of the Great Patriotic War in music art (for the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War).

Researchers, teachers and specialists of higher and secondary education institutions in the field of music art, doctoral students and postgraduate students are invited to participate in the conference.

Conference languages: Russian, Belarusian and English.

The conference is planned to be held in a mixed format. The following forms of participation are envisaged: in-person, remote (online broadcast), in absentia (video recording of the report, poster presentation).

Presentation time: 20 minutes (report at a plenary session), 15 minutes (report at a sectional session, message at a round table, presentation of a publication).

Applications for participation are accepted until November 10, 2025, to the email address minsk.conference1@gmail.com

A poster presentation or video recording of the report must be sent no later than November 21, 2025, to the email address minsk.conference1@gmail.com

Travel, accommodation and food expenses are covered by the conference participant or at the expense of the sending party.

The conference will result in publication of scientific articles. Articles are accepted by e-mail at nio@bgam.by until January 20, 2026.

A scientific article of 14,000–40,000 printed characters must include an abstract in the language of the article, a summary in English, and keywords. The text of the article is formatted in accordance with the requirements posted on the Academy website (https://bgam.by/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Trebovaniya-k-publikatsii-v-zhurnale-Vesti_bel.pdf). Articles that have not been published before are accepted for publication. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to reject articles that do not meet the stated requirements.
