Writers Celebrating Anniversaries – 2026

06.02.2026

Every year, the world celebrates the anniversaries of writers and poets, as well as the birthdays of books.

Literary anniversaries are traditionally celebrated with dignity, but it’s crucial not to “gloss over” them. Let’s explore these literary anniversaries together! Perhaps for many of us, this will be an opportunity to read books by outstanding authors for the first time or reread them, discovering new facets of the authors’ talent.

The library of Belarusian State Academy of Music is offering a series of monthly exhibitions, “Writers Celebrating Anniversaries – 2026”.

Each month, we will announce authors whose anniversary is being celebrated and showcase their books from our collection.

January and February are dedicated to the works of iconic Belarusian and Soviet writers Ivan Melezh (1921-1976) and Ivan Shamyakin (1921-2004), Russian writer Nikolai Leskov (1831-1895), American writer Jack London (1876-1916), and Russian-Soviet writer Anatoly Rybakov (1911-1998), whose works have been adored by generations.

We invite everyone to read and rethink classics, immerse themselves in the world of books, and understand the significance of the writer’s personality and the contemporary relevance of his work in the reading room (office No. 210, Academic Building No. 3, 22 Petrusya Brovki St.) until December 31, 2026.

LET’S READ TOGETHER!
