The Library of Belarusian State Academy of Music presents a thematic exhibition titled “A Day in the Destiny of the Belarusian State,” dedicated to National Unity Day (September 17, 2026).

This holiday was established during the 6th All-Belarusian People’s Assembly. It marks the date—September 17, 1939—when the Red Army’s Polish campaign began, resulting in the reunification of Western Belarus with the Belorussian SSR. The significance of this event for the Belarusian people cannot be overstated. Reunification granted our country territorial integrity and instilled in its people a sense of national unity; this enabled Belarus to withstand the trials of the Great Patriotic War, secure an honored place in the international community, and become a co-founder of the United Nations.

The establishment of National Unity Day underscores the continuity of generations and the steadfastness and self-sufficiency of the Belarusian nation and statehood. The Belarusian people are united in their strategic choice to build a strong, sovereign, and prosperous country. Only by joining forces and standing together can we preserve peace and well-being on our land, as well as the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Belarus.

The exhibition is on display in Room 130 of Academic Building No. 1 (30 Internatsionalnaya St.) from September 11 to September 30, 2026.
