The Library of the Belarusian State Academy of Music presents the exhibition “Music of Tender Feelings” dedicated to the International Women’s Day.

March 8 is a special day. This is a holiday of spring and increased attention to a woman as the embodiment of beauty and charm, happiness and harmony. On this day, most men strive to join the knightly traditions: they give women flowers and gifts, showing special care, attention and tenderness.

Connoisseurs of beauty – poets, musicians, artists – sought to comprehend the beauty, the mystery of this divine, and at the same time earthly creature – woman. They expressed their love and tender feelings in music, literature, and painting.

Works created in the flow of strong feelings will not leave anyone indifferent. Thanks to love for a woman, humanity has been able to see and hear most of the masterpieces of art.

The exhibition presents sheet music editions of works by Belarusian and foreign composers of different eras, who composed the “music of tender feelings”, dedicating it to their beloved women, as well as literature from the rare collection of the library, scientific articles, audiovisual documents, and illustrative material.

The exhibition can be viewed in the room 140 at educational building No. 1 (30 Internatsionalnaya St) from March 5 to April 29, 2024.
