“The Constitution of the Republic of Belarus – National Treasure and Pride of the Country”

14.03.2024

The Library of the Belarusian State Academy of Music presents the thematic exhibition “The Constitution of the Republic of Belarus – National Treasure and Pride of the Country”.

On March 15, our country celebrates one of the main state holidays – Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus.

In 2024, the country’s Basic Law, which has the highest legal force and enshrines the fundamental principles and norms of legal regulation of the most important social relations, will celebrate its 30th anniversary. The Constitution of the Republic of Belarus defines the state structure, establishes the principles of the electoral system, regulates the formation of government bodies, and establishes the rights and responsibilities of citizens. The Constitution declares a person and his/her life, his/her rights, freedoms and guarantees of their implementation to be the highest value. This document laid a solid legal foundation for independence and realized the desire of the Belarusian people to be full-fledged masters in their native land.

On March 4, 2022, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko, at a ceremony in the Palace of Independence, signed the Decision of the Republican Referendum on amendments and additions to the Constitution of the country. “We created and adopted a unique legal document. It combines traditions and innovations, democracy, and unity of governance. Without false modesty, it can be called the Constitution of the future,” said the Belarusian leader.

The exhibition presents publications that reveal the role and place of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus in the system of government of the country: encyclopedias, reference books, socio-political and popular science magazines, educational literature on the ideology and history of the Belarusian state.

The exhibition is located in the room 138 at educational building No. 1 (30 Internatsionalnaya St) from March 14, 2024.
