Library of the Belarusian State Academy of Music presents thematic exhibition “Traditions and Innovations in Belarusian Music Science: in the Researches of the Belarusian State Academy of Music” dedicated to the Day of Belarusian Science (01/26/2025), which is celebrated annually on the last Sunday of January.
Science is the most important attribute of the statehood and sovereignty of the country, perform the function of intellectual provision and support for key goal – building strong and prosperous Belarus.
Belarusian science – is a system of of interacting organizations that conduct research and development in a wide range of areas of obtaining and applying the latest knowledge that meets the cutting edge of global scientific and technological progress. Key scientific sectors are represented by academic, industry, corporate and higher education (university) science.
The Belarusian State Academy of Music is one of the largest scientific centers in the field of historical and theoretical musicology, which is engaged in scientific research in the field of music pedagogy, theory and history of performing arts, history of Belarusian and world music, ethnomusicology and philosophy of music. The Academy organizes research and methodological conferences, publishes monographs, collections of research papers, methodological manuals and anthologies, as well as musical editions of works by Belarusian composers. The research activity of the Academy of Music is provided by: Research Department, Editorial and Publishing Group, Postgraduate and Doctoral School, Dissertation Defense Council, the Student Research and Creative Society.
The exhibition presents the entire spectrum of research activities and the results of research projects implemented in recent years at the Academy: issues of the research and theoretical journal “News of the Belarusian State Academy of Music”, a collection of articles “Scientific Works of the Belarusian State Academy of Music”, Doctoral, Master’s Theses, materials of research conferences, teaching aids, textbooks, musical publications and audiovisual documents.
The exposition is located in the elevator hall of the 6th floor of the Academic Building No. 3 (22 P. Brovka St.) from January 23 to March 17, 2025.
