XXXI Republican competition of scientific works of students

The information of the qualifying stage of the Competition for participants from the Academy of Music is compiled in accordance with the Regulations on the Procedure and conditions for the Republican Competition of Scientific works of Students, approved by Resolution No. 175 of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus dated July 5, 2022, posted on the official website of the Student Science competition of the Republic of Belarus (www.sws.bsu.by ).

The first qualifying stage of the Competition is held in order to activate the research work of students.

The main objectives of the Competition are:

assistance in the integration of the educational process and scientific activities in institutions of higher education of the Republic of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as HEI);
creating conditions for the realization of students’ creative abilities and stimulating research activities in the profiles and (or) areas of education in which specialists are trained in higher education institutions, in accordance with the priority areas of scientific, scientific, technical and innovative activities of the Republic of Belarus;
deepening the theoretical and scientific-practical training of students, mastering the skills of obtaining and using scientific knowledge;
to promote the active inclusion of students in the field of scientific activity of the Republic of Belarus.

Independently completed scientific works of students studying at the Academy of Music, as well as graduates and graduate students who completed their studies at the Academy of Music in the year of the competition (hereinafter referred to as the authors) and who have the results of scientific work approbation (publications, diplomas of scientific work competitions, acts of introduction into the educational process, etc.) are submitted to the Competition.

The scientific work submitted for the competition must correspond to the profile and (or) the direction of education in which the author is studying (studied), and (or) priority areas of scientific, scientific, technical and innovative activities of the Republic of Belarus, have scientific, practical, social significance.

Scientific papers prepared by two authors are also allowed to participate in the Competition, if they have materials on the topic of scientific work that confirm the approbation and use of the results of scientific work.

Consulting assistance to the author in the preparation of a scientific work is provided by a researcher or a pedagogical worker (from among the teaching staff of the Academy of Music or other scientific organization), who, respectively, carries out scientific activities in the relevant branch of science or pedagogical activities in the relevant academic discipline (hereinafter referred to as the supervisor).

The nomination and consideration of scientific papers during the Competition is carried out in two stages.

At the first stage of the Competition, scientific papers are considered by the commission of the Academy of Music, approved by the order of the Rector of the Academy.

The results of the work of the commission of the Academy of Music are considered at a meeting of the Academic council of the Academy.

At the second stage of the Competition, scientific papers recommended by the Academic Council of the Academy of Music are considered by the competition commissions for the relevant scientific sections.

To participate in the first stage of the Competition, the author of the scientific work submits the following documents to the scientific director of the National Academy of Music, who coordinates the research work of students, by e-mail: snto@bgam.by:

Application for participation

scientific work in, no more than 50 pages in length for the social sciences and humanities (together with appendices, excluding copies of materials confirming the approbation and use of the results of scientific work), designed in accordance with the interstate standard GOST 7.32–2017. The requirements for the design of the work can be found on the official page of the competition by clicking on the link    Student Science of the Republic of Belarus (www.sws.bsu .by);

a list and copies of materials confirming the approbation and use of the results of scientific work (copies of publications, Diplomas of participation in scientific work competitions, acts of introduction into the educational process, etc.), as well as, if available, materials confirming the participation of the author of scientific work in the implementation of scientific projects, student grants;

review of the scientific supervisor;

a certificate of verification for the presence of borrowings.

The application for participation is provided in an electronic version. The scientific work and all accompanying documents are in both electronic and printed versions.

Deadlines for submitting applications and works for participants of the qualifying stage of the Competition:

until November 8, 2024 – submission of applications

until November 15, 2024 – provision of scientific papers with all accompanying documents

until November 25, 2024 – summing up the results of the qualifying stage of the competition.

Scientific papers submitted for participation in the qualifying stage of the Competition after the deadline are not allowed to further participate in the Competition and are not considered by the competition commission.

To register scientific papers that have passed the qualifying stage of the Competition, within the established time limits By the Academy of Music deadlines, the same information is provided as indicated in paragraph 1: the application is in electronic form; scientific work and all accompanying documents are simultaneously in electronic and printed versions.

For scientific papers that have passed the qualifying stage of the Competition, the following deadlines are determined for the provision of materials for the final stage of the Competition:

until November 29, 2024 – submission of an application for the formation of a common database from the Academy of Music;

until December 6, 2024 – provision of the text of the scientific work with accompanying documents.
