This year marks the 340th anniversary of the birth of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), the greatest composer of the 18th century, one of the outstanding innovators of the Baroque era. Bach’s art legacy is enormous, over 1000 works in various genres: sacred sonatas, concertos, oratorios, cantatas, preludes, concert works for clavier. The music of J. S. Bach is truly universal: in the infinite number and variants of interpretations and arrangements, its essence, its inner core is not lost, there is something in the composer’s music that makes it attractive in any era.
The exhibition presents monographs, research essays, articles from magazines, scientific works and collections about the life and work of Johann Sebastian Bach, as well as sheet music editions of the composer’s works and compact discs. The exhibition is located in the elevator hall (6th floor) of Academic Building No. 3 (22 P. Brovka St.) and in the foyer of the second floor of Academic Building No. 2 (9 Kommunistichnaya St.) from March 19 to April 30, 2025.
