She was born in Novozybkov, Russia. She has been working in Belarusian State Academy of Music since 1972. Besides teaching English language she trains MA students.

Developed a range of educational courses: “Professional language for musicians”, “English speech for conversations: lexical clichés, stamps and examples” etc.
During her work in the Academy of Music S.Schukina actively works as an interpreter at musical master-classes, symposiums, meetings with foreign musicians, translates lectures and print production. She also translates annotations of scientific articles of periodical scientific-theoretical magazine “News of Belarusian State Academy of Music”.
From 1996 till 2007 headed the Language Department. From 1996 till 2021 was a member of Big Council of Belarusian State Academy of Music. For a long time she headed Club of International Friendship. She is a member of Belarusian Union of Women.
The sphere of scientific interests of S.Schukina is language theory: musical lexicography, written discourse of outstanding composers.
She was awarded Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus (2012), Certificates of Honor from the Rector of Belarusian State Academy of Music (2015, 2016, 2021).
