Vladimir Korolchuk was born on July 8, 1958 in Minsk, BSSR. He has been working at the Belarusian State Conservatory since 1993: teacher of the Composition Department (part-time), since 1997 – senior teacher of the Composition Department (part-time) and the Instrumentation Department (since 1998), since 2008 – Associate Professor, since 2018 – Professor of the Composition Department. He teaches courses in composition, arrangement and composition, instrumentation, score reading, and a polyphony course for opera and symphony conducting students. Dean of the Folk Instruments Faculty (from 2014 to present). Member of the Belarusian Union of Composers (1992) and the Belarusian Union of Musical Workers.

The main direction of creativity is chamber and symphonic music.

Vladimir Korolchuk is a laureate of the VI International Festival-Competition of the Composition “Mandolinissimo” (2010, Osaka, Japan), and has the Grand Prix of the XIV All-Russian Festival-Competition of Contemporary Music for the Russian National Orchestra “Music of Russia” (2016, Moscow, Russian Federation).

Among his students are laureates of republican and international composition competitions, scholarship holders of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for Support of the Talented Youth S.Rynkov, E.Gutina, D.Pavlotskaya, A.Rudaya, V.Ilyushonok, V.Baranovskaya.

He developed and published educational programs for music universities on polyphony in strict writing, music theory, music-theoretical systems for the speciality “Composition”, teaching materials in the academic subject “Polyphony” (strict writing) for the speciality “Composition”.

Awards: Certificates of Honor from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus (1994) and the Department of Culture of the Minsk City Executive Committee (2007), Gratitude from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus (2008), Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus (2013), Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus (2017). Badge of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus “For contribution to the development of culture of Belarus” (2022).

4th for string orchestra (2008);

6 concerts: for double bass and chamber orchestra (1990), “Sad Concerto” for flute and symphony orchestra (1992), for viola and chamber orchestra (1996), for bayan and cello with chamber orchestra and bells (1998), for trumpet and piano (2003), for organ and string orchestra;

cantata “Memory” for mezzo-soprano and symphony orchestra based on lyrics by D.Krasnaru (1991);

9 sonatas: “Amadeus Sonata” for flute and piano (1995), “Portrait” for clarinet and piano (1986, 2001), for bassoon and piano (1989), for trombone and piano (1991), for tuba and piano (1992), for marimba and piano (1996), “Classical” for violin and piano (1987, 2002), for bayan (1997), for piano (2010);

2 trios: for violin, cello and piano (2004), “My native land” for flute, violin and piano (2005);

3 quartets: “Epitaph” for 2 violins, viola and cello (1988), Quartet for flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon (1988), Quartet for violin, viola, cello and piano (2013).

Author of arrangements for trumpet quintet:

“Round Dance of the Princesses” and “Kashcheev’s Dance” from the ballet “The Firebird”, “Russian” from the ballet “Petrushka” (I.F.Stravinsky).
