International Piano Competition "Minsk-2021"

Dear friends!

From December 1 to 10, 2021, the International Piano Competition "Minsk-2021" will be held in Minsk. The organizers of the competition are the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus and the public association "Belarusian Union of Musical Figures".

Сonditions of participation

The competition is open to solo piano performers between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive. The age of the contestants is determined as of December 1, 2021. It is allowed to participate in the competition of persons who took part in the competitions "Minsk-2000", "Minsk-2005", "Minsk-2010", "Minsk-2014" (except for the winners of the First prize).

Applications for participation in the competition are sent until July 31, 2021. The day of sending the documents is determined by the date of their mailing or by the date specified by the mail service in the email.

– a copy of the identity document;
– creative biography;
– two color photos with a size of 13*18 cm or in electronic form in JPEG format (resolution of at least 600 dpi).
The application and documents are submitted in Russian or English.

Applications submitted after July 31, 2021 or with incomplete documents will not be considered.


An entry fee is set for each participant of the competition. Its payment is made in Belarusian rubles in the amount equivalent to 100 (one hundred) euros at the exchange rate of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus on the day of payment. The fee is transferred by bank transfer to the current account of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society with the name and initials of the contestant and the purpose of the payment "Registration fee".

Purpose of payment: Registration fee indicating the initials and surname of the participant

A document confirming the payment of the registration fee is presented by the competitor during the drawing of lots.

All expenses for staying at the contest are paid by the sending party or the contestant.

The Organizing Committee and the Competition Directorate do not provide assistance in obtaining Belarusian entry visas, booking hotel rooms for participants and accompanying persons.


Competitive auditions consist of three rounds:
– I and II rounds of qualifying (to be held in the Great Hall of the Belarusian State Academy of Music);
– the III round (the final one) will be accompanied by a symphony orchestra in the Great Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic.

The number of participants in the second round is determined by the decision of the jury, but not more than 50% of the number of participants in the first round. No more than 6 (six) participants of the second round of the competition are allowed to participate in the final round.

Replacement of the works declared in the competition program is not allowed. All works of the competition program are performed by heart. Competitive auditions are held in public. The order of performance is determined by drawing lots and remains until the end of the competition. The winners and other contestants are awarded on the last day of the competition in a solemn atmosphere, after which a concert with the participation of all the winners of the competition is held free of charge.

The international jury includes teachers, prominent masters of the musical art of the Republic of Belarus and foreign countries.

The jury evaluates the contestants ' performances according to the ten-point system according to the following criteria:
– the brightness of the performer's personality;
– the accuracy of the transfer of stylistic features of the performed works;
– artistic integrity of the performance;
– meaningfulness, artistry and technique.

The final distribution of places is carried out by the jury of the competition by open voting personally for each contestant. The jury reserves the right to award not all prizes and diplomas, to divide the prizes (except for the first one). The decision of the jury is final and cannot be reviewed. The decision of the jury is announced on the last day of the competition.


The winners of the competition are awarded the title of laureate and are awarded cash prizes in the amount equivalent to:
I prize – 10,000 euros
II prize – 8,000 euros
III prize– 5,000 euros

For the participants of the final round of the competition (except for the winners), three incentive awards are established in the amount of 2,000 euros each with the title of the winner of the competition.

All prizes are awarded on the last day of the contest in Belarusian rubles at the exchange rate of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus. The bonus fund is subject to income tax in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Belarus.

By the decision of the jury, other awards and certificates may be established for the contestants and teachers.
