From October 22 to 23, 2025, the XII International Student Folk Instrument Performers Competition from CIS Universities was held in Moscow, Russia, at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music. In the nomination “Bayan, accordion”, fourth-year student Ivan Volchek was awarded a third-degree laureate diploma (class of PhD in Art History, Associate Professor L.Skachko).
From April 14 to 19, 2025, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation held the 22nd International Folk Instrument Performers’ Competition “Northern Cup” named after A.Repnikov in Petrozavodsk, Russia, at the A.Glazunov Petrozavodsk State Conservatory. The duet of third-year students Ivan Volchek and Alesya Korneva won a second-place diploma in the “Small Ensembles. Senior Group” category (class of the Head of the Bayan and Accordion Department, PhD in Art History, Associate Professor L.Skachko).
On April 7, 2025, a competition for the best presentation at the Student Scientific Conference was held at Belarusian State Academy of Music as part of the XXXIV International Scientific Readings in Memory of L.Mukharinskaya and the International Forum of Ethnocultures. From April 4th to 6th, 2025, the 4th Open Competition of the Bayan and Accordion Department and the Stringed Folk Instruments Department was held at Belarusian State Academy of Music. On March 25, 2025, the International Student Paper Competition “Scientific Dialogue” was held in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, organized by the Scientific public organization “Professional Science” (scipro.ru). From February 8th to 9th, 2025, the All-Russian Bayan and Accordion Performers Competition “February Harmonics” named after Vladislav Zolotarev was held in Moscow, Russia. From November 29 to December 1, 2024, the 4th All-Russian Competition of Folk Instrument Performers named after V. Avralev was held in Voronezh, Russia. From October 2024 to February 2025, the 39th International Bayan and Accordion Music Festival was held in St. Petersburg, Russia (organizer and director – Professor A.Dmitriev of St.Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.Rimsky-Korsakov). From September 30th to November 15th, 2024, the 13th Republican Creative Radio Competition “Young Talents of Belarus” was held in Minsk, Belarus. First-year student Maksimilian Mozol won the competition and received a 3rd-place award (class of the Head of the Bayan and Accordion Department, PhD in Art History, Associate Professor L.Skachko).
In June 2024, the results of the first ever Belarusian State Academy of Music student award “Teacher of the Year” were summed up! The winner of this award in the nomination “Teacher of the Year of the Faculty of Folk Instruments” was Associate Professor of the bayan and Accordion Department, Candidate of Art History, Associate Professor L.V.Skachko.
From June 25 to 28, 2024, the XXII International Competition-Festival “Vivat, Bayan!” was held in Moscow (Russia). The winners of the competition were: 1st year student Kirill Bulanov — diploma of the winner of the III degree (in the category “Senior. Classics”); duet consisting of 2nd year students Volchek Ivan and Korneva Alesya — diploma of laureates of the II degree (in the category “Ensemble. Classics”). From June 3 to June 21, 2024 inSokol (Russia) hosted the III Open All-Russian Competition of performers on accordion, accordion and accordion “Cup of Russia”.
