VLADIMIR KOROLCHUK

Vladimir Korolchuk was born on July 8, 1958 in Minsk, BSSR. He has been working at Belarusian State Conservatory since 1993: teacher of the Composition Department (part-time), since 1997 – senior teacher of the Composition Department (part-time) and the Instrumentation Department (since 1998), since 2008 – Associate Professor, since 2018 – Professor of the Composition Department. From 2014 to 2025, he headed the Folk Instruments Faculty (the Orchestral Faculty currently). Member of the Belarusian Union of Composers (1992) and the Belarusian Union of Musical Workers.

The main direction of creativity is chamber and symphonic music.

Vladimir Korolchuk is a laureate of the VI International Festival-Competition of the Composition “Mandolinissimo” (2010, Osaka, Japan), and has the Grand Prix of the XIV All-Russian Festival-Competition of Contemporary Music for the Russian National Orchestra “Music of Russia” (2016, Moscow, Russian Federation).

Among his students are laureates of republican and international composition competitions, scholarship holders of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for Support of the Talented Youth S.Rynkov, E.Gutina, D.Pavlotskaya, A.Rudaya, V.Ilyushonok, V.Baranovskaya.

He developed and published educational programs for music universities on polyphony in strict writing, music theory, music-theoretical systems for the speciality “Composition”, teaching materials in the academic subject “Polyphony (strict writing)” for the speciality “Composition”.
